Usually, the various choirs of St Giles’, under the expert guidance of our Choir Director, Dr Nicholas Prozillo, head off to Italy every July (at the beginning of the school holidays). It gives them not only the opportunity to experience a new culture first hand, but also to perform in historic churches and music venues.
Of course they weren’t able to do so in 2020 or 2021 due to the covid pandemic, so this July was the first time in three years that the tour could take place (and for many young choristers, the first time they had been on a tour). This year they went to Bergarmo in northern Italy.
