Today was a time to celebrate as our benefice came together for this special baptism and confirmation service, presided over by Steven, Bishop of Oxford.
The day started with the candidates (and a few other young people) meeting Bishop Steven for a Q & A session. We learnt a lot about the Bishop (for instance, does he play an instrument*) and about how a faith journey can look for us both together and as individuals.
There was two candidates from St Giles: Alfred and Scarlet. Seven from St Margaret’s: Ana, Iris, Martha, Max, Samuel and Will. Martha and Max were also baptised.
They all got quite wet with the renewal of our baptismal vows, which some of our younger members found hilarious!
The service finished with huge applause as those confirmed received their confirmation candle, Bible and baptism certificate.
Our church communities are so blessed to have them to travel with us on our faith journey’s.
Shine as a light in the world to the glory of God the Father.
