Introduction

When, where and how do we experience encounters with God? An immediate reaction might be that we encounter God most in our worship in a building dedicated to prayer, such as a church. But is this right? Is this attitude in harmony with what Jesus taught and other spiritual guides advocate? This exhibition is designed to open our eyes, hearts and minds to a wider perspective and hence recognise that an Encounter with God can happen anywhere and everywhere and can have quite unexpected consequences.

The first two items in the exhibition help us to recognise that we are dwelling in the presence of God. If God is God, then there can be nothing beyond God and thus we dwell within God. So, as we look around us, everything can be taken as a manifestation of the nature of God. Go for a walk in the countryside and God is there, in the nature of the soil, the weeds, the flowers and all that lives and breathes.
