Every day of Holy Week

7:30am – Morning Prayer

From Common Worship: Daily Prayer.

On Saturday, Morning Prayer will be at 9:00am (as usual).


5:30pm – Evening Prayer

From Common Worship: Daily Prayer. Note that on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Holy Week, these services will also include the daily address from Fr Charlie.

On Sundays, Evening Prayer is from the Book of Common Prayer (1662) and is at 6:00pm.


Palm Sunday (28 March)

10:30am – Palm Sunday liturgy

This is a special pre-recorded service which, as always, is a special joint benefice effort between St Giles’ and St Margaret’s.


3:00pm – Teen Discussion with Fr Charlie

Our guest speaker, Fr Charlie will join us via Zoom to chat to the young people about his vocation. We’ll be exploring what it means to be a young person in our church communities and in the wider Church of England. This event is open to all our teens (13-18 years old) from across the benefice. 6:30pm – Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater

A live-streamed liturgical concert from St Giles’.


Monday of Holy Week (29 March)

8:00pm – Online discussion with Fr Charlie, our guest speaker.

A chance to discuss the themes emerging out of the Holy Week addresses at this mid-point, before we enter the great three days of the Triduum.


Maundy Thursday (1 April)

8:00pm – Liturgy of Maundy Thursday

Live streamed from St Margaret’s Church. Followed by the Watch before the blessed sacrament until midnight, which you can join in with either in-person or online.


Good Friday (2 April)

9:00am – Toddlers’ Easter Story

Eva tells us the Easter story, with the help of lots of teddies.


10:30am – Mattins with the Litany

From St Giles’ Church.


1:30pm – Solemn Liturgy of Good Friday

From St Margaret’s Church.


6:00pm Stations of the Cross

An online set of meditations. This will remain online, if you prefer to access this later in the evening or during the day on Holy Saturday.


Easter Eve (Saturday 3 April)

8:00pm Easter Liturgy

From St Margaret’s Church (but this year with contributions from St Giles’), incorporating the Service of Light, a shorter Vigil and the first Eucharist of Easter.


Easter Day (Sunday 4 April)

10:30am Parish Eucharist / Holy Communion

St Giles’ and St Margaret’s will both have their regular 10:30am services, both featuring the final address from Fr Charlie, our guest preacher.


3:00pm Online chat with Fr Charlie nCR

A final opportunity to talk with our guest speaker and others across the benefice about the Holy Week addresses or anything else!
