As you will know, in the Benefice this Lent we are hosting the Come and See course (you are still very welcome to sign up – see here for more information!), but many of you will be marking Lent in other ways too. You may be giving something up or starting a new spiritual practice. Some of you may be reading something as your Lenten discipline.

I have decided to pick up a book which has been sitting unread on my shelf for the last few years called, ‘Lent in Plain Sight: a devotion in ten objects’. It takes a different object each week and gives short reflections on them for each day, with some questions to ponder. The objects of the reflections in the coming weeks include shoes, dust, and bread. It is only Ash Wednesday so it is too early for me to say whether I would recommend this book to others – but ask me in a few weeks’ time!
If you would like to share something about a book you are reading, or a practice you have started this Lent, we’d love to hear from you – just get in touch with me (associate@stgilesstmargarets.org)
